I find it easier to write about a specific body of work and the thoughts and techniques that led towards its creation, it is often much more difficult to write a blanket statement that takes into consideration your work in its entirety. However, looking back at my work a few constants always stand out.
My interests tend to lean towards expression in both surface and form. Clay for clay’s sake if you will. The strength of the material lies in its ability to begin as a shapeless blob and take on the feeling and attitude of its maker with great fidelity. So to in the process of which it is vulcanized, the alchemy that takes place in the kiln has been a continued wellspring of interest and inspiration.
